Almost every booking question comes down to the same thing: will we all fit, bags included?
The honest answer depends more on the luggage than on the people. A van with nine seats can't also swallow nine big suitcases behind the back row, and anyone who promises otherwise is about to make your airport run very cosy. A regular taxi seats four, so once you're five or more, or four with big suitcases, a maxi cab is usually the easier choice. Here's what really fits in each of our vehicles, so you can pick the right one first time.
The one rule: seats and suitcases share the same space
In every one of our vans, bags go behind the last row of seats. In the 13-seater, the back seats fold down to make extra room for luggage. So past a certain point, every big suitcase you add costs somebody a seat.
That's why we'd be wary of any listing that promises a full set of seats and a full boot at the same time. We'd rather tell you upfront and send the vehicle that actually works.
7-seater maxi cab
Our 7-seater is a roomy MPV, a Toyota Wish or similar. Seven people with cabin-size bags fit comfortably. The boot is sized for carry-on bags and backpacks rather than big check-in suitcases.
If everyone in your group has a large suitcase, you'll want the 9-seater or the 13-seater instead. Airport transfers in the 7-seater are S$60.
Good for: small families, friends heading out for the night, and anyone travelling light.
9-seater maxi cab
The 9-seater is the classic Singapore maxi cab: a high-roof Toyota Hiace or similar, with wide sliding doors and individual seats. Bags go in the luggage area behind the back row.
It's the vehicle most groups end up in, because it copes well with a mix of people and check-in suitcases. The more bags you bring, the fewer of those nine seats you can use, so tell us your bag count and we'll confirm it works. Airport transfers are S$65.
Good for: families flying with suitcases, groups of friends, and day tours.
13-seater minibus
Our 13-seater is a high-roof Toyota Hiace Commuter. Because its seats fold to make room for luggage, we can give you exact combinations:
- 13 passengers with no luggage, or small items only
- 11 passengers with up to 5 pieces of luggage
- 9 passengers with up to 9 pieces of luggage
Need all 13 seats and a suitcase each? We'll pair the minibus with a second vehicle, so nobody spends the ride with a bag on their lap. Airport transfers are S$70.
Good for: two families travelling together, church and company groups, and events.
Toyota Alphard or Vellfire
The Alphard and Vellfire seat six in reclining captain seats, with a quieter, more refined cabin. The boot sits behind the rear row, so the same trade-off applies. Tell us how many bags you're bringing and we'll confirm it suits your group.
Choose it for comfort rather than capacity. Airport transfers are S$80.
Good for: couples, VIP guests, and families who'd like a little luxury.
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter
The Sprinter is the exception to the rule. It seats nine and has its own luggage compartment, separate from the seats, so bags don't take anyone's place.
It's available by the hour only (S$150 an hour, with a 4-hour minimum) and needs at least a week's notice. That makes it a better fit for planned occasions, like wedding parties, corporate visits and private tours, than for a quick airport run.
Which one should you book?
- Up to 7 people with carry-on bags only: 7-seater
- A family with check-in suitcases: 9-seater
- 9 people with a suitcase each: 13-seater
- 10 to 13 people travelling light: 13-seater
- More than 9 people with a suitcase each: 13-seater plus a second vehicle
- Up to 6 people who want comfort: Alphard or Vellfire
- Up to 9 people with luggage and a full day of stops: Sprinter
What counts as luggage?
Count every check-in suitcase. Cabin bags and backpacks are smaller, but mention them too, especially if you're booking the 7-seater. And don't forget the things people tend to leave out:
- Prams and strollers, even when folded
- Golf bags, which are long and awkward
- Boxes, gifts and shopping from the trip
- A child seat, which takes up a seat as well as space. We don't provide child seats, so bring your own if you need one.
- A wheelchair or walker. Mention it when you book so we can check it fits.
Tell us two numbers when you book
How many people (kids included) and how many bags. That's all we need to match the vehicle to your group. If it's borderline, we'll suggest the bigger van or a second car rather than squeeze you in.
Every fare is nett and includes ERP and car park charges. Book at least a day ahead if you can, and earlier for weekends and public holidays, when the 9-seater goes fast.
Still not sure which one you need? Send us your passenger and bag count on WhatsApp and we'll tell you straight away. You can also see every vehicle and price on our rate card, or book online.
